Sometimes with an Asian blood running through my veins plus an Asian upbringing , it's really hard to listen to younger people.
My sister would always ask me to hit the gym once in a while, cause I really need some weight loosing these days. BUT I tried that before and it did not work, somehow I loose some then gain some, its a constant battle.
I am thinking I should know better cause I am older but then again sometimes I think maybe I was doing it all wrong. Maybe there is something that I should have been doing just that I was so stubborn enough to listen. Maybe I really should listen to her ideas even if she is younger than I am.
I am thinking does gym works to every one? Due to some health reasons I really need to loose weight and not just some but enormous weight. I am 5'4'' weighing 96kg, I am really obese so I need to really loose a lot. I will try the gym again and I really hope it will work this time.
PS: just in case you have tips in mind would you please share it.. thanks :)
and yep the picture is my 18 year old nurse sister :)

I don't know a lot about gyms because I have only been and became a member to one. I think the right discipline and commitment will push you to fitness and not actually the gym because it only offers the tool and facilities but it's you who will act for your body.
ReplyDeleteyeah I guess commitment is really the key.
DeleteI have tried to work out in my home but I think my love of food is just stronger! haha!
ReplyDeleteBut I will try again next year with my cousin. :D
hahaha I guess me too... I would like to do some workout at home though just that I dont have the proper material for it.. I mean equipment.
Deletewow with that body , why do you still need to go to the gym . I think you have a beautiful body ...you dont want to be skinny ... that is scary ..
ReplyDeleteits my sister hahaha the one who is asking me to go to the gym...
DeleteI hate going to gym and it really adds up to my expenses. So what I do is buy fitness DVDs and do the thing at home on my own pace. Works like a charm but discipline should be observed.
ReplyDeletethat maybe will work for me so I dont have to drive an hour from my place to go to the gym... good Idea thanks
DeleteWell exercise is a kind of addiction, you just need to concentrate on your goals. there is a quote about gym "no pain no gain". May be that pain is distracting you or may be you don't have time due to your professional life.
ReplyDeleteWarm up is very essential before hitting gym, so let's start with warm up and include this in your routine. I am sure you'll be addicted to that kind of exertion. :)
I'll do that tomorrow :)
DeleteI think for weight loss you need consistent effort. Gym can make you lose some pounds but once you stop. Your body will be looking for it since your system has already adjusted to the exercise so it had to be consistent.
ReplyDeleteyeah I guess that is something that I have to put in mind..
Deleteif you want to lose weigh to more cardio. Exercise that can make your heart beats faster and can make you sweaty! try the HIIT workouts there's a lot that you can just do at home without the need of gym equipments. Lifting weight and other stuffs is a different story. I am a gym addict by the way haha Goodluck!
ReplyDeletewonder if tybo is a good Idea to start it?
DeleteI work out at home. That way I can do it when I want. I don't have anyone watching me and I found I work out harder because I don't have to worry about what people think of me breathing hard and getting really red.
ReplyDeleteI zumba at home and found it's really an amazing workout!
thank you for sharing I guess that is really a good start for me...
DeleteI don't have much experience with gyms but exercise is really important. If you find going to a gym a better motivation to lose weight, then you should do it. :) it's not for everyone, yes, but instructors can help you there.
ReplyDeleteyeah I have meet some that are good... I guess I really have to push my self harder..
DeleteI have been thinking of signing up for a gym. I have some work out equipment here but with having to deal with the kids I never get a chance to use it.
ReplyDeleteI'm sign up to 2 and used it but I loose time..
DeleteThey key to losing weight is determination, goals, and community. Start going to the gym with a friend or your sister and talk about your goals on how to lose weight.
ReplyDeleteMy sister who is in the picture always ask me to go to the gym which I tried BUT I really hate when people would say.. how nice of you to bring your mom.. sometimes funny sometimes I want to strangle them hehe :)
Deletehonestly I am now thinking of enrolling a program in a certain gym. stay healthy and fit
ReplyDeletego! hehe :)
DeleteI am probably in the same situation as you with regards to weight so I do know that the journey to ideal weight and health starts the day we actually move to do it. Wishing you the best.
ReplyDeleteagree.. I already started mine this morning and I would really like to continue... lets see what happen next...
DeleteYour sister looks great! Eat less, exercise more. Strength training is important.
ReplyDeleteOnce you hit the gym, you should have the will power to undergo training in losing weight and you should have self-discipline too. I did it several years ago but when i stopped my regular workout, I gained weight again and mind you, it doubled up.
ReplyDeleteI have my own work out room in our basement so I have never gone to a real gym. I think it would be fun to go with friends though.
ReplyDeleteHaven't been to a gym to work my butt of,really. My workout consist of running after my kid everytime he decides it's time for Shouting Crazy and Running Naked hour ... In your case though, I don't think it's a bad idea to spend a couple of hours a week in the gym. :) Thanks for this post :)
ReplyDeleteI actually went to the gym for only a year. At first, it worked. I was always excited to go and work out there. But my enthusiasm for it eventually died down. It just didn't work for me. What I did though was just box and run. At least those two worked for me than just going to the gym.
ReplyDeleteTher's this notion that gym is the place for obese people. I say NO, Whether at home, office or any place you can do some simple routines or exercise that will keep you trim. BTW, If you will ask me, you look just fine sa figure mo.
ReplyDeletehehe thats not me my sister who asked me to go with her at the gym :)
Deletedoes my comment went in?
ReplyDeleteyes thank you :)
DeleteWith my very hectic schedule and medical condition, hitting the gym would be a challenge for me.
ReplyDeleteYou've got to find a way to motivate your self in working out and maintaining a healthy diet. As the old saying of gym-rats goes... "No pain, no gain." :)
ReplyDeleteI think not going to the gym is no problem. There are a lot of exercises you can do even outside the gym. For a start, you can jog/run every other day. It's a good and fool-proof cardio exercise that will make you lose a good amount of weight. But if you want to take off the pounds and inches faster, I think it's better to combine jogging/running with working out. You can listen to your sister and go to the gym, or you can also exercise using workout DVDs and at the comforts of your own home. I have tried Jillian Michael's 30-Day Shred and Ripped in 30 (which I think is good for beginners wanting to lose weight or tone a bit), as well as Insanity (cardio and toning) and Hip Hop Abs or Zumba (if you love dancing, these are fun alternatives).
ReplyDeleteAside from exercising, it's important too to maintain a good, balanced diet and with just the right portions. In the end, weight loss is not just something that can be achieved by going to the gym. It needs determination, patience, discipline with the right combination of exercising and proper diet. :)
